Here at Good Earth Nursery, situated 10 minutes North of Toowoomba, Queensland, on the New England Highway in Highfields, it is important to us to provide excellent service and a community atmosphere, in which we intend to spread the word on Good gardening principles.

There is so much to be learned about water wise Gardening and the growing of   healthy plants without the use of serious chemicals or artificial fertilisers.

Growing Australian Native shrubs and trees suitable to the locality is very important as we can grow plants that thrive best in our area and give us all a sense of well-being. This nursery will be the first to release many new Australian plants to cultivation.

Helen Howard, owner of the business has been in the horticultural industry for 30 years, favouring work in the background as a grafter of rare and endangered plant species specialising in Grevilleas and now the word is out about Eremophilas and Brachychitons. Helen has decided to use her years of diverse experience to change the present thinking and help preserve what we have through this nursery. We cannot do this alone so we hope to inspire people so that we can pool our knowledge to power this dream.

At Good Earth nursery our hope is to encourage people to grow organic vegetables (you will taste the difference!) and to encourage planting of Australian Native plants to have water wise gardens. Best of all you will provide a better environment for your children and the animal and bird life.

Each weekend  (usually Saturday afternoon) during the year we will have talks on various plant- related topics.

Growing your own vegetables and fruit, organic gardening, permaculture, propagation techniques are samples of talks we will run throughout the year. See events and news.

We take wholesale orders as well as Mail Orders and are open to any suggestions how we can improve our service to you.
